Storage Virtual Machine : Protection : SnapMirror : Managing mirror relationships for Data ONTAP 8.2 : Resynchronizing mirror relationships

Resynchronizing mirror relationships
You can reestablish a mirror relationship that was broken earlier. You can perform a resynchronization operation to recover from a disaster that disabled the source volume. For Infinite Volumes, the resynchronization operation recovers the volume and its constituents.
About this task
•
The resynchronization operation can cause loss of newer data written to the destination volume after the base Snapshot copy was created.
•
However, if the last transfer error suggests a resynchronization operation, you can break the mirror relationship and then perform the resynchronization operation.
•
Instead, you should use OnCommand Workflow Automation.
Steps
1.
From the home page, double-click the appropriate storage system.
2.
Expand the Storage Virtual Machines hierarchy in the left navigation pane.
3.
In the navigation pane, select the Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) that contains the destination volume and click Protection.
4.
Select the mirror relationship that you want to resynchronize.
5.
Click Operations > Resync.
6.
Select the confirmation check box and click Resync.
7.
If you are resynchronizing a mirror relationship between Infinite Volumes, click Run in Background to run the operation in the background.
